Kaydon Custom Filtration's Ruijun Chen Chosen for 2013 American Filtration and Separations Society Senior Scientist Award

Kaydon Custom Filtration Corporation (Kaydon Filtration), a leading provider in fuel treatment, lube and hydraulic oil conditioning, announced Ruijun Chen, Sr. R&D Engineer, received the prestigious Senior Scientist Award from the American Filtration and Separations Society. The Senior Scientist Award, presented annually, recognizes individuals who have made a significant contribution to the technology of Filtration and Separation. Chen received the honor at the AFS Awards Luncheon in Bloomington, MN on Tuesday, May 7 during the organization's 26th conference and exhibition.

Ruijun joined Kaydon Filtration as an R&D Engineer in 2005. He earned his undergraduate degree from Zhejiang University in Mechanical Engineering. After moving to the U.S., he received a Masters in Mechanical Engineering as well as a Doctorate in Philosophy from the Georgia Institute of Technology.

In order to be nominated for this award, candidates must have made significant contributions to Filtration and Separations as demonstrated by publication of at least 10 papers in professional conference proceedings or professional journals in the previous 10 years, of which at least five papers must have been published in AFS conference proceedings or in Filtration or Filtration and Separation Journals.
